Welcome to Hildisrieden, the little village on the hill (see directions). We offer a panoramic view to the central alps of switzerland, spanning from Jungfrau to Pilatus, Titlis, Stanserhorn across Bürgenstück to Rigi.

The Hillside House in general

Welcome to the hillside house, a charming abode where guests are welcomed into the cozy embrace of a single-family home shared with the hosts. Situated in the idyllic countryside village, our residence offers the perfect blend of rural tranquility and proximity to the bustling city of Luzern and its many attractions.

Surrounded by verdant hills and scenic vistas, the hillside house serves as a gateway to nature’s bounty, with hiking and biking trails weaving through the nearby forests and meadows. Adventure awaits just beyond our doorstep, with a lush golf course and the serene waters of Lake Sempach beckoning to explorers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Our spacious house features 3 inviting bedrooms, 2.5 well-appointed restrooms and a quaint garden where guests can unwind amidst the beauty of nature. With a fully equipped kitchen and a generous dining table capable of accommodating up to eight adults, shared meals and moments of camaraderie are effortlessly facilitated.

Additionally, our neighborhood boasts a common playground, perfect for families traveling with little ones. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or an active exploration of the Swiss countryside, The Hillside House offers the perfect setting for a memorable stay. The rooms

Standing shower with rain-shower and bath tub are shared.

Fully equipped and modern kitchen is free to use. Some limited amount of space in the fridge can be used too. Serve yourself a tea or coffee.

Garden with playground (swings, slides), a covered BBQ-area (grill and lights included) is free to use.

Also worth to mention

  • The hillside house is NOT accessible by wheelchair. The rooms are eighter upstairs or downstairs.
  • Its family friendly: For toddlers up to 10kg we can also provide a sidebed. There’s a playground in the neighborhood and in our garden. Due to the pond and the climbing tower with slide, you should never leave your child unsupervised while playing outside.
  • All rooms are protected by a smoke detector, all power plugs comes with the latest savety features.
  • The rooms are equiped with swiss plugs (type J), european (type F, Schuko) and USB-Plugs
  • No airconditioning available, but there’s a fan in each room. All windows are also protected by mosquito screens.
  • TV in the private bedrooms upstairs, home cinema in the basement room (also suitable for karaoke).
  • Wifi with broadband internet are included as complementaries.

Breakfast and dining: Restaurants

We regret to inform you that we are unable to provide food services at this time. While we strive to offer a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests, we have chosen to focus solely on providing accommodations and hospitality services. However, we are more than happy to assist you in finding nearby dining options where you can savor a variety of culinary delights.

Gasthof Roter Löwen: 5 Min to walk, just between the roundabout and the church.
Offers self made pizza and swiss traditional cuisine. Opened 7 days a week.

Landgasthof Gormund: A little further, also very swiss traditional, right next to a little chappel.
Comes with a kids playground.

Wirtschaft zur Schlacht: On the way ot the highway you’ll pass by the war memorial site where the reckless swiss soldiers won against the evil Habsburger from Austria in the year 1386. The family friendly restaurant comes with a nice view and a good kitchen, also serving swiss standards.
